I have always loved food, but my passion was really established during winter seasons as a chalet cook. After leaving the mountains and working as an event chef, I completed the Professional Cookery Diploma at Leiths with distinction and won the BBC Good Food Award, giving me a six-month placement as their cookery assistant. I then spent four years on the food team at woman&home (where I was shortlisted for Young Journalist of the Year), before going to delicious. as deputy food editor. I was promoted to food editor in 2014 – a week before my 30th birthday.

My experience with such prestigious magazines has given me a unique outlook on food writing. I don’t just write recipes for people to follow blindly (though they can if they wish!). I want to impart knowledge and ignite enthusiasm, inspiring and teaching readers to become great cooks. My recipes are extremely user-friendly - I have a home cook's need for practicality, a chef's flair for innovation and an editor's eye for detail, simplicity and structure.

Working for industry-leading editors has also given me the ability to offer a ‘complete package’ – a strong story with extra takeaway (be it artistic, factual or humorous), first-class recipes that always work, original and bold styling concepts and art direction, and beautiful food styling. I take an enormous amount of pride in my work, and constantly strive to achieve higher standards.

As well as being the food editor of Slimming World magazine, and a cookery teacher at Leiths School of Food and Wine, my clients include:

Sainsbury's magazine, Tesco magazine and online, Waitrose, THP Agency, Co-op magazine, Gh05t, delicious. magazine, Quarto Publishing and various celebrity chefs.
